[destinationuab] Temporary Accommodation

Hi folks, there is a new student (female) coming to UAB as a student trainee during the summer for two months (May and June). [destinationuab] Grammy Award Winner Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Pt. Subhen Chatterjee in FREE Concert - Sunday, April 14, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Folks

You are invited to attend a FREE concert by Grammy Award Winner Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Pandit Subhen Chatterjee. Their 2011 concert in Birmingham was a great success, played in front of standing room only audience. Pandit Bhatt has created his own version of the slide guitar, aptly named – Mohan Veena.

We are also going to have a special performance by Dr. Pia Sen and her group Notinee – www.notinee.com – who are going to perform special dance items choreographed to the incredible music of Pandit Subhen Chatterjee, who has created his own genre of music through India's most prominent fusion group – Bandish Fusion.

Time: 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Place: Birmingham Museum of Art

[destinationuab] Its Holi Time :)

Hi Guys. Hope everyone is enjoying the weird Birmingham weather :). But on the bright side, we are gonna play some colors on the 7th of April in the Minipark opposite to Campbell hall. We start at 12.30pm and can play till 2.30pm. It is a Sunday and we hope you guys can make it. Unlike last year, the weather is supposed to be good with a temp of about 72 in the afternoon. Invite your friends as well. The more the merrier. We will arrange for the colors, water and some snacks.

Please, pretty please, RSVP for the event on the AIS Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/444621098949956/). We need an estimate of how many people to expect so that we don't run short on colors. Also if someone wants to make any donation to keep the AIS going, the AIS crew will be at the event. We appreciate any help.
