[destinationuab] Diwali Celebration 2012

Hi guys, hope you are enjoying the cool winter of Birmingham. We would like to thank you all for the generous funds raised during the Independence day event. We have enough funds this year to have a gathering to celebrate Diwali. This occasion would also be an opportunity to welcome freshers to UAB.

The event is gonna be held at the Great Hall at HUC on the 17th of November (Sat) from 6-8pm. Traditional Indian clothes are encouraged. Snacks and drinks will be provided after the event. Please RSVP to the event on AIS FB page using the link: http://www.facebook.com/events/159405917538802/

We are finalizing plans for the annual Cahaba Fry Down and would love to
pull in some more volunteers. This is a fun event on the banks of the
Cahaba in Trussville on Sunday, October 7, that raises awareness and money
for the Cahaba River Society. We could use help with a range of activities
in shifts from 10a-2p and 1p-5p. Volunteers help with everything from
ticketing, food sales, supporting the fry-competition teams, and activities
